Welcome to The Zanzibar Legal Services Centre (ZLSC) official website.

The Centre was established in Zanzibar on 1st February 1992 under the initiative of three Zanzibar Lawyers, Prof. Haroub Othman, Mr. Hassan Said and Ms. Fatma Maghimbi.

The Centre is a non-governmental, voluntary, independent and non-profit-making organization whose major aim is to provide legal services to the poor, women, children and disadvantaged sections of the society; promote and advocate for the respect and observance of human rights, popularize knowledge of law and produce publications in all areas of legal concern to the people of Zanzibar. On 9th February 1992 the Centre applied for registration and was formally registered on 29th May 1992, with a Certificate of Registration issued on 30th July 1992.
